Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is a professional nursing organization founded in 1932. The Lambda Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. based in Detroit, Michigan is guided by the motto, “Service for Humanity”. Each year Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. presents scholarships to nursing students exhibiting exemplary scholastic talents and dedication to community service.
Eligibility: a FULL-TIME MINORITY nursing student who is a first-generation college student and parent (GPA 2.5 or higher) in the process of obtaining an associate, baccalaureate, masters, PhD or doctorate nursing degree who completed the first semester of their prospective nursing program and is in good standing with the College/University. The Future Nurses Event flyer is included to be shared with your family and friends.

ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE ON OFFICIAL LETTERHEAD
The following documents are required for submission with the application:
A current unofficial transcript (last two semesters)
Letter of reference from Nursing instructor or Administrator (signed and dated)
Letter of reference from non-nursing mentor (signed and dated)
Official Financial Statement from student accounts reflecting payment history, tuition/fees, and current balance (documentation must be on an official School/University letterhead and requires signature from financial advisor).
Community Service Letter: Must show proof of – a minimum of 10 hours/ year of community service within the last 3 years but it doesn’t have to be consecutive. (CAN NOT ONLY BE FROM CHURCH)
Personal biographical statement (no more than two double spaced pages describing yourself, how you will use your nursing leadership skills to help other nurses who come behind you, current memberships and leadership positions, extracurricular activities, goals).
